Website and waitlist terms.
The rules for this prelaunch website and its lists, in plain language.
Prelaunch. Protestbum isn’t open for business. These terms cover only this website, the waitlist, the protester list, your page and the contact form. Nobody can create a protest, book, accept a request, pay or be paid here. The marketplace will have its own terms, published before any of that becomes possible.
1. Who runs this website
Protestbum is a product in development. No company has been formed yet: the website and its lists are run by Protestbum’s founder as an individual (“Protestbum”, “we”). If a company is formed, these terms will name it.
2. Accepting these terms
These terms apply when you use this website or join one of its lists. The signup forms link to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t join; you can still read the site.
3. Who can use the lists
The lists are for individuals who want to hear about Protestbum: as someone who might request protests, as a possible protester, or both. Join only for yourself, with an address you control.
4. Age requirement
You must be 18 or older to join any list, and Protestbum will be for adults only, both customers and protesters. If we learn someone under 18 has joined, we’ll delete their record.
5. Your email and details
Use your own working email address and a real city. Keep your passcode to yourself; anyone with your email and passcode can see your page. You can change your answers, or delete your record, from your page.
6. What exists today
Today Protestbum is a waitlist, a protester list, your page (invite link and milestones) and a contact form. Creating protests, joining existing demonstrations, matching with protesters, bookings, payments, payouts and attendance verification are planned and not available.
7. Joining a list
- Joining is free, and you can leave at any time.
- It doesn’t create a marketplace account, a booking, a contract to request or carry out a protest, or any obligation for you.
- Joining the protester list doesn’t make you a Protestbum worker or contractor, or promise you any requests or pay.
- It doesn’t reserve anything, set a price or guarantee early access.
8. Confirmation and emails
You’re added only after you click the confirmation link we email you. After that, we’ll send occasional launch news and product updates. Every email has a one-step unsubscribe link. We may still send a message you ask for, such as a sign-in link.
9. Invite links and milestones
Your invite link is yours to share if you want to. Milestones on your page are a thank-you only: there are no rewards, and they don’t change when you’re invited. Signups that look automated, fake or self-referred don’t count, and we may remove them.
10. Protest drafts and demos
The site doesn’t let you save protest drafts or requests. The app screens, examples, film and sessions shown here are product concepts with fictional people, places, times and bookings; nothing you see in a demo is a confirmed booking or a real session. Real, named demonstrations appear only as labeled examples, and Protestbum isn’t affiliated with their organizers. The concept film is animated with simple graphics. Photos of real demonstrations are credited, used under their licenses, and don’t show Protestbum participants.
11. Using the site fairly
- Don’t sign anyone else up, or use someone else’s address.
- Don’t use bots, scripts or bulk tools to submit forms or create referrals.
- Don’t try to disrupt the site, get around its security or rate limits, or access other people’s information.
- Don’t use the contact form to harass, threaten or send unlawful content.
- Don’t present yourself as speaking for Protestbum, or claim a partnership or endorsement that doesn’t exist.
12. Protestbum’s content
The Protestbum name, wordmark, site design, text, graphics, demos and film are owned by, or used with permission by, the operator named in section 1. You’re welcome to link to the site and share your invite link. Please don’t copy or reuse the rest without permission. Names of real demonstrations and organizations belong to their owners and are used only to describe them.
13. What you send us
If you send us a message, a suggestion or feedback, you keep what you wrote. You allow us to use it to answer you and, for product feedback, to improve Protestbum, without owing you anything for it. We won’t publish your message or your name without your permission.
14. Privacy
How we collect, use, keep and delete information is explained in the privacy notice.
15. No guarantee of launch
Protestbum may never launch, or may launch later, somewhere other than your city, with different features or with rules that don’t suit you. There’s no launch date or launch city yet. No prices, fees, earnings or numbers of requests are promised. Plans described on this site can change.
16. No warranty
The site and its lists are provided as they are and as available, without promises that they’ll always work, be error-free or be secure from every threat.
17. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Protestbum isn’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of this website or its lists, which are free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.
18. Removal from a list
We may remove an entry, or block an address, that breaks these terms, looks automated or fake, or puts the site or other people at risk. You can remove yourself at any time from your page or any email.
19. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we’ll update this page with a new effective date and version. If a change is significant, we’ll email confirmed members before it takes effect. Effective October 9, 2026; version 2026-10-09.1.
20. Contact and notices
Send questions and notices through the contact form. We’ll send notices to you at the email address on your record.
Planned safety and conduct rules
These are the rules Protestbum intends to apply when the marketplace opens. They don’t apply to anything today, they’re still being reviewed, and the marketplace terms will set out the final version. They apply the same way to every request, whatever its viewpoint.
- Lawful and peaceful participation only, in public places or where permission has been given.
- No violence, weapons, threats, harassment or intimidation.
- No trespassing, and no blocking entrances, roads or protected access to homes, clinics, places of worship, schools, polling places or other facilities.
- No targeting someone’s home, and no requests about a private individual or their personal details.
- No impersonation, and no presenting paid participation as unpaid support.
- No faked check-ins, photos, videos or other attendance evidence.
- No unlawful activity of any kind. Protesters can decline any request and leave a session that becomes unsafe.
